Then let’s get started!

How To Get More Conversions From Your Blog

In order to get more conversions we need to be on the same page as to what a conversion means.

Here are some examples of what a conversion could be…

  • An Opt In To A Lead Magnet – you generate a lead
  • A Purchase Of A Product – typically a “trip wire” or low barrier of entry product ranging from $7-$49
  • A Click To Move To The Next Step In The Sales Funnel – creates further offer awareness i.e. register for a webinar
Next, before you write anything you must do the following…
  1. Know Your Objective
  2. Know Your Target Audience
  3. Know Your Offer

I’ll explain each of these 3 critical conversion techniques for you now starting with…

1. Know Your Objective

In order to get more conversions from your blog, the first thing you need to do is know your objective.
First, define exactly what you want to accomplish with your blog post (the objective).
Your objective could be to…
  • Make a sale
  • Generate leads
  • Brand your product or yourself
  • Create offer awareness

Once you know your objective you can reverse engineer the blog writing process.

Meaning, write your blog post with the end game in mind.

For example, if you’re objective is to get more leads…

… you need to think about your lead magnet and how it specifically…

  1. Addresses your audiences pain
  2. Provides a solution to that pain

By uncovering the pain, amplifying the pain, and leading your reader to the solution (in this case your lead magnet) you will increase the chances of getting a conversion (a lead).

Knowing the objective is critical for you to get more conversions because it will enable you to write with a specific sense of purpose.

2. Know Your Target Audience

Secondly, in order to get more conversions from your blog you must know your target audience.

The best way to do this is to create your customer avatar.

Part of creating your customer avatar is asking yourself the following questions…

  • What are the attributes of your ideal customer?
  • What keeps your customer avatar up at night?
  • What are their “high stakes” problems?

When you ask yourself important questions such as these you’ll begin to know your target audience on a much more intimate level.

Remember… if you try to appeal to everyone, you’ll end up appealing to nobody.

Therefore, always write your blog post with your Customer Avatar in mind.

You should constantly ask yourself…

“How is this helping my Customer Avatar?”

“How is this a solution to my Customer Avatar’s pains?”

When you write with your Customer Avatar in mind your blog posts will be more precise and specific.

It’s that precision and specificity that will increase your conversions because you’re writing to a specific “someone” rather than a generic “everyone”.

 3. Know Your Offer

The third and final key to getting more conversions from your blog is to know your offer.

This may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised by how many people don’t fully understand the value and benefits of their offer.

So, how do you come to know your offer?

First, you’ll want to start by using my F.A.B.B. method.

F.A.B.B. stands for…

  • Features
  • Advantages
  • Benefits
  • Benefit of the Benefit

You must know your offer inside and out.

Write a list of all the problems/pains your Customer Avatar might have…

Then list all of the ways that your offer can be a solution to those pains.

Personally, I always shoot for 7 problems and 7 solutions.

Know what problem your avatar has and how your product or service will help to solve that problem.

When you do this, you won’t be a “pitchy” sales person…

… you’ll be a problem solver.

Once you can effectively convey that your offer is really a solution to their “pain” you will see your conversions skyrocket.
