What’s Your Excuse?

What's Your Excuse

So, I’ve heard so many dang excuses over the past few months, that if I had a quarter for every excuse I heard I would be a freaking millionaire!  Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but I am about to step on some toes here.  I just want to warn you now.  Let me just say this now, I am not directing this post at you, but if you feel I did then maybe I should be asking you……..

What’s Your Excuse?

Yep, What’s Your Excuse for not making it happen? As Jeff Van Gundy once said, “It’s not about excuses, it’s about finding a solution.” You can either complain, gripe, blame, and lose the game or you can find a solution and win the game.  It’s your choice.  Excuses will always be there just waiting for you to use as a REASON to why you can’t do this or can’t do that.  Why not hammer the lame excuse out and find a solution.

It’s all in the mind, my friends, change your mindset.  Making an excuse for your inability to do something is a cop-out and it’s easy. Why not focus on finding a solution and win the game. I bet you’d feel better about yourself in the end and hey you might even achieve that dream.

I spoke to a wonderful lady today who had been laid off from 4 different jobs 4 times.  Her exact statement to me was, “Michelle, I am tired of putting my dreams on hold for a JOB.  I am tired of making excuses as to why I can’t make it in this industry.”  She said it, and I am holding her to it.  I told her to hang on to that exact thought and when she feels like giving up, to remember that she was at one point tired of putting her dreams on hold for a JOB.

How about you, I ask once again…..

What’s Your Excuse?

If you want to make it in this industry you have to realize there is NO room for an excuse.  You either make it happen or you sit on the sideline and watch it happen to someone else.  Which would you rather?

Let me give you a little insight as to how I hit a 6 figure in come in 6 months:

  • Many all nighters
  • Lost
  • Confused
  • Overwhelmed
  • Information Overload
  • Puzzle Pieces not together
  • 15 hour days and more
  • Non stop everyday work no days off
  • Consistent
  • Constantly Learning
  • Perfecting
  • Mastering
  • Stepping outside of my comfort zone everyday
  • Doing things I didn’t want to do
  • Pushing through the times I wanted to quit
  • No obstacle was too big for me to bust through
  • Never give up attitude
  • Keeping my eye on the GOAL
  • Always remembering my WHY
  • Sweat
  • Tears
  • Sacrificing
  • Determined

Oh how the list could go on but, let me just share with you some excerpts from the excuses I have heard over the past few months:

  • I don’t have time
  • I don’t have money
  • I’m just not cut out for this
  • I just need to figure this out first before…..
  • I will join next week because…..
  • No one will help me
  • No one is listening
  • It’s not fair
  • I expected to be making money by now and I’m not so I’m giving up
  • My income runs out in 2 months and I still haven’t been able to replace my old income so I’m quitting now
  • I’ve begged and pleaded for help and no one will listen
  • No one will just show me exactly how
  • I don’t know how
  • It probably wouldn’t have worked out anyways

Okay….I’ll stop there, but feel free to add more in the comment section below.  What’s Your Excuse?  What’s your favorite excuse you have heard lately?

It’s time to start realizing that your success depends on you.  Your failure depends on you.  No one else is responsible.  Excuses are your own way of not taking responsibility for your actions.  Make excuses and you will start to believe them, it’s a fact.

If you want this and I mean really want this then go after it and stop making excuses as to why you have not achieved your success yet. When you stop making excuses and start living in your uncomfortable zone you will soon appreciate the rewards that come your way.
