5 Surefire Ways to Increase Your Facebook Fan Page Engagement

Over the past year we have witnessed Facebook Fan Page engagement decrease significantly.

While some marketers have adjusted nicely, many others have unfortunately ditched their Facebook Fan Page marketing strategy and have moved on to other mediums.

However, Facebook still remains  one of the most profitable marketing platforms out there. So if you would like to know how to increase your Facebook Fan page engagement then this article is definitely for you!

How To Increase Your Facebook Fan Page Engagement

As you may know, if you have a Facebook Fan Page and you are posting content on that page then most likely you’re not seeing a lot of action as far as likes, comments and shares.  In today’s post I want to help you put a plan together to help you increase your Facebook Fan Page engagement.

First off it all starts out with consistency. This means posting 3-5 times throughout the day, every single day.  You should aim to create momentum on your page and even if you skip a day or two you will take two steps backwards and lose any momentum that you’ve been building.

The first thing that we do to increase our Facebook fan page engagement is we plan out a lot of our posts by scheduling the posts for the upcoming weeks. One tool we have found to be a huge timesaver is called Post Planner and it does a great job in helping us increase our Facebook Fan Page engagement.

Next comes the content and I have put together a list of 5 surefire examples to increase your Facebook Fan Page engagement. Hopefully this will take some of the guess work out of your day when it comes to creating content for your page.

5 Surefire Ways to Increase Your Facebook Fan Page Engagement

5 Surefire Ways to Increase Your Facebook

1. Ask A Question

Okay don’t just ask any question, but a thought provoking question that your audience will feel inclined and motivated to answer easily. For example:

Q: If the whole world were listening, what would you say?

Q: Would you rather have an ordinary home in an extraordinary location or an extraordinary home in an ordinary location?

Q: If you could read one book for your entire life, which would it be?

You can even upload an image with your question.

If you are running a Facebook Fan Page one of your goals should be to get people talking and what better way to increase your Facebook fan page engagement and get people talking than by asking a question.

2. Post an image worth sharing

Think about your fans and what moves your fans in their life and/or business.

Consider posting images that will inspire and motivate your fans.  For example, our fans are typically people who are entrepreneurs or looking to be entrepreneurs. We understand that sometimes entrepreneurs need a little push or motivation, because quite frankly being an entrepreneur is not always easy.

Here are some examples of images we will post along with quotes embedded in the image to increase our Facebook fan page engagement:

These types of images when congruent with your audience’s style are the type of posts that will get you a more likes, comments, & shares.

In today’s Facebook marketing world, engagement is key if you are looking to increase your brand awareness.  The more comments, likes, and shares you can get on a post the more reach you will have beyond your fans.  For example, each time a fan likes, comments or shares your posts, their friends will see a story in their newsfeed about the action your fan just took on your post.

This my friend, is how a post goes viral and how you can increase your Facebook fan page engagement.

3. Videos

If you do videos, instead of uploading those videos to a third party video hosting company such as YouTube, upload them directly to Facebook on your Fan Page.

A couple of things happen when you upload directly to Facebook.

One, your video is now searchable via the search engines provided you have used keywords in your title and/or description. Secondly, videos are a great way to connect with your fans on a more personal level.

Videos are a great way to allow your fans to hear your message, to get to know you and to really resonate with you on a whole different level beyond just words in a status update.

If you are making videos you should consider doing “How To” videos, share your story, give daily tips, teach on personal development, etc…

No matter who you’re audience is your goal should be to to engage your audience and increase their user experience. What better way to do that than by inspiring,  motivating, and helping them move towards what they want most in life and/or business.

4. Articles

I am assuming since you are reading this article you have a business and you now have a Facebook Fan Page. Another great idea when it comes to content is to leverage the work of others by sharing their content on your Facebook Fan Page.  Now obviously you wouldn’t want to share your competition’s work, but you can certainly share people who contribute to your marketing niche that are not your direct competition.

For example, we often share articles from Entrepreneur.com, Post Planner, INC.com.

Often times these will be articles about being an entrepreneur and building a small business.  Sure we are driving traffic to another website other than our own website but we are also providing value within our marketing niche by sharing links to articles that make sense to share with our audience.

5. Blogging

If you are a blogger don’t forget to share your blog posts on your Facebook Fan Page. It’s a great way to engage your audience and to position yourself as an authority within your marketing niche.

Finally if you REALLY want to boost the engagement of your posts consider running a page post engagement Facebook ad on a regular basis to get your status updates in front of your audience through the power of paid advertising.
