You don’t want your followers to get annoyed with your postings and unfollow you. Post enough so that you are popping up in their feed regularly, but not too much. The perfect amount seems to be once a day.

2. Utilize Instagram Stories
If you have more content that you want to share, but you don’t want to annoy your followers, utilizing Instagram stories is the perfect way to share additional content.

On your Instagram story, you can post as much as you want. People can only see your Instagram story if they willingly click on it, so there’s no way to overdo it here.

This is a great way to share behind the scenes and let your followers get to know you on a more personal level.

3. Do Livestreams
Live streams are a wonderful way to get to know your followers and to let them get to know you. Once a week, schedule a time for a live stream where your followers can ask you whatever they want. Make sure to announce it in advance (around a day or two before) so that your followers know when to tune in.

Instagram now has this great feature where even after a Live stream is over, you can choose to keep it on your profile for a full 24 hours, rather than it disappearing right away. This is great for followers who are in different time zones or who were busy during the live stream.

4. Interact With Your Followers
If someone takes the time out of their day to send you a message or leave a comment, please don’t ignore it.

Responding only takes a few seconds, and it really builds a good relationship with your followers. It shows them that you actually care about what they have to say.

Also if you reply to their comments, they are more likely to leave comments on your other posts which is always a good for increased engagement.

5. Have Both Personal & Business Instagram Accounts
Many people make the mistake of having one Instagram account solely for their brand, and they think one account is all they need.

It’s actually more beneficial to have both a personal and business Instagram account. On your personal account, you can post whatever you want: foods, friends, family, nature, pets, etc.

The great thing about having a personal account is that once in a while you can give yourself a shout out and refer some of your followers to your business account.

6. Do Giveaways
Having a giveaway once every month or two for your products is an amazing way to gain new followers.

When you do the giveaway, make sure that one of the mandatory rules are: “tag 2-3 friends in the comments below.” Another mandatory rule should be that they must be following your account. This is a great way for your brand to gain more exposure and new followers.

The people who are tagged by their friends will then check out your account, and chances are that they will enter the giveaway as well, tagging their own friends.
