Using Facebook Preferred Audience for Better Audience Optimization

Preferred Audience

Facebook just released a new feature for Fan Page owners called Preferred Audience or Facebook Audience Optimization.

“Audience Optimization is an organic targeting tool to help publishers reach and engage their audience on Facebook and better understand the interests of people clicking on their posts.” – Facebook

As a Fan Page owner myself when posting content on our Fan Page all I really want is to get that content in front of an audience who cares.  After building our page since 2010 and over 106,000 fans the reality is some of those people may no longer be engaged on Facebook or even with our page.

Now we have the option to get our posts in front of a preferred audience that we choose.

Btw….no money required. 🙂

So if you have over 5,000 fans then the Preferred Audience is already on your page.  If you have under 5,000 fans then you will need to go into your settings of your Facebook Fan Page under the general tab to activate the Audience Optimization feature.

In the video below I walk you through the steps to using this really cool, new feature.

How cool is that?!  I love it!  I hope you do too and see the value in the Preferred Audience new feature.

Don’t forget that after using the Preferred Audience feature a few times go back after your post has been running for a few days or even a week and start to take notice of the most engaged interests that you have chosen.

Keep a running list and eventually you will have a highly engaged lists of interests that you can target on a regular basis which will boost your engagement for your Facebook Fan Page.

More engagement = More Brand Awareness which = More Traffic, Leads & Sales for your business.
