Simple Ways to Increase Your Brand Awareness Using Your Smart Phone

Today’s post is all about some cool, nifty apps & tools to help you increase your brand awareness.

I love my smart phone! In fact it’s very much a part of our business and I don’t mean the part where we use it to call our prospects & customers.  Not to play candy crush or words with friends. Nope…..it’s an amazing addition to helping us increase our brand awareness online when we are out and about and away from our laptops.

Recognizing opportunities to increase your brand awareness beyond your laptop is one of the key ingredients to getting more exposure for your brand.  More exposure means more leads & sales for your business and that’s always a good thing.

Brand Awareness

So in today’s post I want to share with you some helpful apps and ideas you can use in your business with your smart phone to increase your brand awareness.

Periscope – As of writing this post, Periscope is a fairly new marketing trend, but it’s a great way to share snippets of value throughout your day when you don’t have time to write a blog post / article. All you need to do is download the Periscope app via your smart phone and put it into play.

When Bill & I were on vacation in Los Angeles we didn’t have much time to sit down and create content via our laptop, so instead of taking the week off from creating content we decided to do a Periscope session each day that lasted anywhere from 5 – 15 minutes.  It was a great way to to provide value, remain engaged and to stay connected with our audience.

Camera – Don’t forget your phone has a camera when you are on the go. Look around at your surroundings as there are always opportunities you can easily capture and turn into content.

For example, when Bill and I are on the run, often times we will snap pictures of what other businesses are doing.  We often times will snap lifestyle photos or snap photos from a business event within our niche.

Part of increasing your brand is to share who you are.  Don’t be afraid to share as it is a great way to connect with your audience.

The more you allow your audience to get to know you, the more the know, like, & trust factor will increase with your brand.

People will buy from the people they know, like & trust.  But, don’t just stop at taking pictures with your smart phone. Pick out 2 other social media sites you can download on your phone and share your photos with your audience, such as Instagram and Facebook.   The cool thing is if you have a Facebook Fan Page you can post a picture on your page via the Facebook page manager’s app.  You can also set up your Facebook Posts to also post out on Twitter without taking any additional steps to do so.

To connect your Fan Page to your Twitter account, log into Facebook then go to this URL to connect, http://facebook.com/twitter.

Videos – Hanging out in a pretty cool location?  Want to share some awesome content right when it’s fresh on your mind?  Then whip out the camera, flip the view around to make it a selfie video and start filming.  Some of our best content ideas come when we aren’t at home in front of our camera or laptops.  We have learned from past experience that writing down the idea to film a video for later content, loses it’s passion hours later.  Capture your passion in the moment while you are feeling it!  Shoot the video and upload it directly to your Facebook Fan Page via your Facebook Fan Pages app or upload it straight to YouTube via your YouTube app if you are a YouTube marketer.

Quick Voice Recorder – Another great app you can download or something you can download something comparable that will record your voice.  Bill and I often use this on the go when we come up with content ideas. You can turn your recordings into podcasts or just upload them to Soundcloud which from there you can put them on your blog or just share them out on Social Media.

It’s all about getting content out to your audience that’s meaningful and valuable. Sometimes your ideas come to you when you aren’t sitting down at your computer and this is why our smart phones can really help us increase our brand awareness while on the go.
